The Rehabilitation Services Supervisor works with the Rehab Director and Manager in the coordination of daily operations at LHAAMC or LDCMC. Supervises a multi-disciplinary team of therapists and aides, leading within Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Pathology scope of practice, ensuring adequate staffing and compliance with policies, regulatory standards, and best clinical practices. Provides therapy services according to departmental standards.

- Conducts therapeutic interventions and documents according to established departmental policies and procedures.
- Participates in program development and trains staff in these areas as necessary.
- Assists in budget projection and adherence to budget including monitoring and tracking of departmental productivity.
- Promotes a culture of continuous performance improvement in the Rehabilitation Department through utilization of a strategic, root cause analysis methodology and interdisciplinary decision making.
- Consults with and serves as a resource for physicians, nursing staff, and other clinicians to increase knowledge of Rehab Services for patients of all ages.
- Participates in clinical pathways and/or interdisciplinary meetings and provides intra and inter-departmental in-service training when indicated.
- Assists in developing a safe and efficient staffing matrix including daily scheduling and time-off approval.
- Conducts interviews, and oversees staff orientation, competency assessments and annual performance reviews.
- Provides technical supervision, direction, and support to staff Therapists, Therapist Assistants, Rehab Aides, students, and volunteers.
- Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary to support department operations.
The minimum level of education and experience for this position includes:
- Bachelor of Science degree or Associates Degree within rehabilitation services field.
- Three years of acute care or related experience.
- Preferred: Prior supervisory experience.
- Current license in a rehabilitation services field supported by the Maryland Board.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS CPR certification.
There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.
