Inventory Management and Supply Distribution Analyst
Position Objective:
Under general supervision of the Site Managers, Materials Management, responsible for the management and maintenance of the materials management storeroom inventory maintenance, nursing and acute department decentralized inventory location maintenance. This role is the primary point of contact for the software programs that streamline various supply chain tasks, including ordering, requisitions, and restocking; improving supply chain staff productivity. The Inventory and Distribution Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring supply availability and satisfaction by providing expertise in the implementation, training, and ongoing support of PeopleSoft inventory maintenance, PAR Excellence inventory management solutions and the optimization of the inventory levels. This individual will act as a key resource for materials management, procurement and nursing, helping them to effectively maintain inventory locations, and to utilize the PAR Excellence system to optimize workflows, improve efficiency, and achieve their supply chain goals. This role works very closely with the Supply Chain systems team and the larger Supply Chain team, and works to optimize the inventory and distribution processes across the health system to maximize the efficiency and supply support for our clinical teams.
Essential Job Duties:

1. Serve as the primary point of contact for PeopleSoft inventory maintenance/management. Responsible for cycle counting process, inventory bin maintenance to include bin labeling and re-order point establishment which drives accurate auto-replenishment order order creation in PeopleSoft.
2. Serve as the primary point of contact for PAR Excellence weighted bin inventory management program and supporting software for AAMC and DCMC campuses.
3. Optimize inventory management supporting the real-time tracking and automation weight-based inventory solution, in addition this role will support hand-held technologies, and any newly acquired RFID technology, electronic shelf labels that enable real-time tracking of medical supplies, etc.
4. Analyze and optimize decentralized inventory PAR levels, ensuring timely replenishment; minimizing the risk of critical supply shortages and stockouts which can impact patient care.
5. Support manual inventory tasks such as cycle counts, and hand-held device technologies/software that streamline ordering and receiving processes using hand-held technologies.
6. Develop a deep understanding of data analytics and reporting capabilities available through the decentralized weighted bin inventory system (PAR Excellence), distribution partner PAR health reports and work with Materials Management managers to optimize the use of the system.
7. Utilizes available reporting tools to offer insights into usage patterns, helping to identify cost-saving opportunities or to enable more informed decisions about inventory levels and staffing adjustments to accommodate supply demand.
8. Responsible for store room and nursing par inventory room design and maintenance, to maximize effectiveness of supply storage and improve clinician satisfaction with room set up and item contents. Works closely with clinical staff to improve supply chain support or PAR level storage areas.
9. Create queries using available reporting tools in such as PAR Vision and other available reporting sets.
10. Monitor, research and determine root cause of PAR Excellence transaction failures and communicate to the impacted parties. Solve transaction issues and communicate fulfillment needs to supply chain teammates when orders do not transmit appropriately.
11. Assist with data integrity issues and resolution of issues within supply chain system databases.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Supply Chain, Business, Information Technology or a related field is required.
- 2 years applicable experience is required. Healthcare-related supply chain background and experience with inventory and distribution is preferred.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel or reporting/spend analysis systems required..
- Additional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
