Donor Center Recruiter

Position Objective:

 Participates in the blood donations program’s overall recruitment efforts in accordance with program’s standards and goals.

1. Strengthens the hospital and laboratory’s reputation by consistently demonstrating courtesy and professionalism in every interaction. Acts as the welcoming face of the blood donor center—greeting each donor with warmth and professionalism, guiding them smoothly through the donation process, and creating a positive, comfortable experience that encourages their return.
2. Assists Donor Room staff with efficient flow of donors through the donation process.
3. Establishes donor suitability according to regulatory, facility, and laboratory guidelines and protocols.
4. Receives and processes routine telephone requests or inquiries and follows through to resolution.
5. Assists the Blood Donor Center Recruitment Coordinator with the recognition program for donors, civic groups, and other businesses supporting the Donor Center.
6. Schedules donors to best meet the needs of the donor in alignment with the strategic goals of the organization. Pulls recruitment lists based on Donor Center and mobile schedule and aligns with inventory needs.
7. Assists Blood Donor Center Lead Recruiter with recruiting donors by a variety of media to include phone, email, letters, and social media.
8. Explores opportunities to add value to job (innovative ideas) to benefit the organization and taking ownership of the outcome. Proactively finds other work-related tasks during low census.
9. Actively participate in the laboratory quality plan/program (ex. investigative reports, notification of delays, etc.).
10. Participate in the training of new staff and volunteers by serving as a mentor and technical resource.

  Required Minimum Education:

• Associates Degree from an accredited college or university. Note: Five years of experience working in a blood donor center may be substituted for the required education.

 Required Minimum Experience:

• One year of experience working in a blood donor center in an equivalent role, preferred.

 Required License/Certifications:

• None

 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Ability to work cooperatively with all types of personalities both inside and outside the organization.
• Ability to travel to various sites.
