Clinical Director - Pathways
This position is responsible for the delivery and monitoring of clinical services for Substance Use patients and families. This position provides best practice clinical services to patients with substance use and mental health disorders and provide comprehensive supervision of the clinical and support staff.
- Performs duties according to established standards for age groups adolescent through geriatrics using knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span.
- Develops and administers the management, coordination and integration of clinical services to meet the clinical, social and support needs of the defined patient population. Assumes responsibility for organizing appropriate patient focused clinical services by teams of clinical care givers and administrative and support staff who deliver those services.
- Develops, implements and evaluates clinical performance against quality indicators. Participates in the development of Process Improvement, AAMC, Joint Commission, local, state, federal and governing body policies and procedures.
- Works collaboratively with the clinical team to facilitate the development, communications and implementation of the departmental strategic plan that is consistent with the centers vision, mission and goals.
- Assists in improving the financial performance for the service by assisting the planning and achievement of the utilization management provided in the least intensive, least costly, clinically appropriate setting
- Acts as the Clinical Director in matters of expansion planning, renovations, new programs and capital expenditures.
- Assists in reviewing market research and recommends promotional and other marketing activities consistent with the market needs.
- Collaboratively insures ongoing effective communication and information sharing about the program at all levels of the organization and in the community
- Leads multi-disciplinary treatment team for each client to include: physician, psychiatrist, nurses, counselors, and family counselor.
- Oversees the employee hiring process including position review, posting, interviewing and selection.
- Conducts employee and team performance by coaching, counseling, motivating, and evaluating employees on a continual basis including formal performance review process. Implement disciplinary action as needed.
- Trains staff. Ensures staff is knowledgeable and follows all policies and procedures and assesses competency as prescribed by regulatory agencies and departmental leadership.
- Oversees the Prevention Education Program with the support of the Prevention Education Coordinator. Supports the Prevention team to achieve identified goals and decrease the impact of substance use in the community.
Minimum Required Experience: Three years in a clinical supervisory role working with adult and adolescent populations with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.
Required License/Certification: Current license as a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (LCFMT) from the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapist or Current license as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) from the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists or Current license as a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCWC) or Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C) from the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners.
