Cardiovascular Radiology Technologist II
Position Objective:
Performs cardiovascular radiographic procedures on patients of all age groups in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures.
Essential Functions:

1. Performs radiographic procedures and special diagnostic procedures in a timely manner consistent with established quality standards and the special needs of patients.
2. Participates as a member of a specialized medical team preparing patients for cardiac cath lab procedures. Assists physician in emergency situations and adverse contrast reactions to patients.
3. Demonstrates competency in providing care to those patients undergoing but not limited to the following procedures: coronary angiography and angioplasty, stent placement, atherectomy with scoring/cutting balloons, rotational atherectomy, Shockwave Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL), thrombectomy, Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), and Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR), Insertion of an Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), placement of a temporary pacemaker, pericardiocentesis.
4. Demonstrates competency in providing care to those patients undergoing but not limited to the following electrophysiology procedures: electrophysiology studies (EPS) and ablation procedures (both radiofrequency and cryoablations, placement of implantable cardiac devices, including traditional pacemakers, leadless pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), and loop recorders.
5. Demonstrates competency in providing care to those patients undergoing but not limited to the following structural heart procedures: transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR).
6. Conducts daily quality assurance tests on radiological and emergency equipment and records results. Operates all related equipment and consistently demonstrates competence.in all areas of radiographic positions, physiology, procedure preparation, patient care, and technical factors.

Requirements/Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a 2 year radiological technology program in an AMA approved educational institution or Associates Degree in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology
- Five Plus years in hospital special procedure environment. In absence of formal special procedures, training, twelve months certifiable on-the-job training in angiography is required.
- Certification in diagnostic radiography by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), with current state of Maryland licensure, or RCIS certification.
- American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS; ACLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.
Physical Demands -
Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
