Position Objective:

The Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) provides enterprise-wide strategic financial leadership across Luminis Health. This role is accountable for designing, directing, and optimizing all financial planning processes including long-range strategic planning, annual budgeting, capital planning, rolling forecasts, productivity analytics, and ad hoc scenario modeling. The VP partners closely with the CFO and other executive leaders to translate organizational strategy into actionable financial plans, enabling sustainable growth and fiscal stewardship. They will lead and develop a high-performing FP&A team and drive data-informed decision-making across the health system.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Executive Strategic Advisor: Serves as a strategic financial partner to the CFO and senior executive team, offering forward-looking insights and actionable recommendations that align financial performance with organizational priorities. Leads development of financial models that assess growth, risk, and optimization opportunities.
  2. Enterprise Budget Leadership: Leads the design and execution of Luminis Health’s system-wide operating and capital budgeting processes. Ensures alignment with enterprise strategy and stakeholder priorities. Oversees forecasting methodologies and integrates volume, revenue, and cost drivers to inform decision-making.
  3. Long-Range Planning & Forecasting: Directs development of the five-year long-range financial plan in collaboration with system executives. Drives quarterly rolling forecasts, identifying trends and performance risks, and recommending corrective actions as needed.
  4. Capital Planning Oversight: Oversees capital planning and prioritization processes, ensuring strategic alignment, fiscal responsibility, and governance. Partners with clinical and operational leaders to evaluate return on investment and long-term capital sustainability.
  5. Productivity & Performance Analytics: Champions development of enterprise-wide performance reporting, productivity metrics, and cost benchmarks. Leads initiatives to increase transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency.
  6. Benchmarking & Decision Support: Guides the use of internal and external benchmarking to assess competitive positioning, cost-effectiveness, and value-based performance. Partners with operational leaders to evaluate program-level profitability and strategic investment opportunities.
  7. Financial Systems & Data Strategy: Oversees implementation and optimization of advanced financial planning tools and cost accounting systems. Ensures data integrity and reporting accuracy across platforms.
  8. Leadership & Talent Development: Builds and mentors a high-performing FP&A team. Cultivates a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Promotes cross-functional learning and business acumen throughout the organization.
  9. Governance & Reporting: Prepares and presents financial plans, forecasts, and performance updates to executive leadership, board committees, and other governance bodies. Ensures clarity, accuracy, and alignment with strategic goals.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior-level healthcare FP&A or corporate finance role.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare finance, hospital operations, and regulatory considerations.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills with experience presenting to executive and board-level audiences.

License/Certifications:

None required; CPA preferred.
