Position Objective
The Signature Events Officer serves as the community-facing lead for LHAAMC and LHDCMC Foundations’ signature fundraising events, Fish For a Cure, Denim & Diamonds, and the DCMC Golf Invitational. This role is responsible for building community engagement, leading event committees, managing sponsor benefit fulfillment, and elevating the public profile of these premier philanthropic events.
This role requires a highly organized, creative, and outgoing individual who thrives in relationship-building and excels in both strategy and execution. The Officer works closely with the Signature Events Coordinator to bring each event to life, ensuring seamless collaboration between community engagement and logistics.
Essential Job Duties
- Leads the strategic planning and execution of the AAMC and DCMC Foundation’s signature fundraising events, serving as the external point of contact and face of the events in the community.
- Manages volunteer committees for each event, including recruitment, communication, and engagement strategies to ensure alignment with event goals and timelines.
- Ensures committee connectivity to the event’s case for support, coordinating tours and mission moments to drive awareness, ownership and connectivity to the event goals.
- Oversees fulfillment of all sponsor benefits, coordinating with vendors, designers, and the internal team to ensure recognition, visibility, and impact delivery as promised.
- Works with Signature Events Coordinator to develop strategic in-kind partnerships for the benefit of the events.
- Develops and implements a Fish For a Cure Boat Mentorship Program to engage peer-to-peer fundraisers and strengthen community fundraising capacity, event participant pipeline and retention.
- Designs and oversees development of event programs, ensuring alignment with Foundation messaging, mission, and fundraising objectives.
- Develops and implements creative and engaging night-of fundraising efforts at each event to include call for the cause, text-to-give campaigns, interactive games, raffles, prizes, etc.
- Works with Foundation VPs, Directors of Giving and Luminis Health executive leadership to engage vendors in these events through a cohesive sponsorship program.
10. Works in lock-step with the Signature Events Coordinator to align on logistics, budgets, contracts, layouts, guest tracking, and timelines to ensure a seamless experience for participants and donors.
11. Works in partnership with the Foundation communications and stewardship teams to create event-related materials and donor engagement touchpoints.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, event planning, community engagement, or donor relations. Prior experience with high-profile events, sponsorships, or nonprofit development preferred.
Skills & Attributes
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be confident, outgoing, and passionate about building community relationships. Exceptional organizational skills and a collaborative mindset. Strong attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor databases preferred.
