Respiratory Therapy Assistant
Position Objective:
Provides technical support, including maintaining respiratory care and pulmonary function equipment and supplies, as well as administrative and clerical support for department functioning.
Essential Job Duties:

- Perform equipment processing, clerical, and administrative support tasks as assigned. Maintain records as required to meet departmental, organizational, and regulatory standards.
- Maintains supply and equipment inventory. Review par levels and order inventory supplies in the quantities needed.
- Performs routine maintenance and quality control activities on respiratory care equipment and arterial blood gas machines.
- Disassembles, assembles, decontaminates, and disinfects respiratory therapy equipment according to manufacturers and departmental standards.
- Uses established department procedures to record and process loaner/rental equipment.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Respiratory Therapy Student at an Accredited College or University
Required License/Certifications:
- None

There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.
Physical Demands - Medium Lifting
Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
