The System Manager for Rehabilitation Services oversees operations at LHAAMC and LDCMC.  Coordinates within Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Pathology scope of practice, ensuring adequate staffing and quality services, while facilitating program development and performance improvement initiatives. Provides professional development and clinical and operational leadership to Rehabilitation Department staff, students, and volunteers. Incorporates the Team, Change, Business leadership model of the organization into all essential job duties.

  1. Coordinates clinical services and processes which guide patients through the continuum of care, which includes: clinical policies (pathways, protocols, guidelines and standards of care); patient focused delivery models; documentation standards and patient education
  2. Manages department budgets and executes on financial objectives.
  3. Analyzes departmental metrics to drive day-to-day business operations and inform future initiatives.
  4. Promotes a culture of continuous performance improvement in the Rehabilitation Department through utilization of a strategic, root cause analysis methodology and interdisciplinary decision making.
  5. Collaborates with internal/external customers, serving as a resource to develop and drive strategic initiatives, incorporating the skills and knowledge of Rehabilitation Services.
  6. Ensures appropriate staffing levels to meet patient volumes, implementing strategies for recruitment and retention, while ensuring budget alignment.  
  7. Oversees departmental orientation, competency assessments, and performance reviews, coaching for performance and professional development.
  8. Demonstrates knowledge of all applicable legal, regulatory, and policy requirements including laws and regulations pertaining to patient billing and the practice of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology.
  9. Ensures integration of rehabilitation services across the system, working collaboratively with entity peers.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary to support department operations.

 

The minimum level of education and experience for this position includes:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or Associates Degree within rehabilitation services field.
  • Five years of acute care or related experience, three years of which includes progressive supervisory experience. 
  • Master’s Degree preferred.

 

  • Current license in a rehabilitation services field supported by the Maryland Board.
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS CPR certification.

There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.
