Position Objective
The Imaging Services Representative is responsible for managing and facilitating the secure exchange of medical imaging records between healthcare providers, patients, and external facilities. This role ensures timely and accurate image transfers, assists with troubleshooting digital imaging systems, and provides exceptional customer support while maintaining compliance with healthcare privacy regulations.
Essential Job Duties
- Utilize and manage the PowerShare Image Sharing application for image transfer requests via phone, fax, email, or direct system access.
- Process requests to send imaging files to patients, healthcare providers, and external facilities using PowerShare, Ambra, CDs, and other platforms.
- Fax imaging results as requested and assist in importing external imaging into PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).
- Notify appropriate personnel when images are successfully uploaded to PACS.
- Facilitate the onboarding of new healthcare facilities into PowerShare, collaborating with Nuance representatives as needed.
- Guide patients on how to access and use PowerShare through their MyChart accounts.
- Assist surgical teams by uploading images for surgical planning to external platforms such as Visionaire, Biomet, Gore Medical, and Silkroad Medical.
- Support the Research Department by burning anonymized CDs for research purposes.
- Maintain basic knowledge of PACS and the Quality Assurance process to ensure accurate reconciliation of uploaded imaging exams.
- Assist in training other staff members on the effective use of PowerShare and imaging workflows.
- Maintain compliance with health system codes of ethics, HIPAA regulations, and confidentiality agreements.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge & Skills
- Have access to and know how to use the DatCard CD burners.
- Have access to and basic knowledge of PACS.
- Have access to and proficient knowledge of PowerShare.
- Have access and proficient knowledge of EPIC.

Educational/Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher in healthcare administration, radiologic technology, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in radiology imaging support, medical records management, or healthcare IT is preferred.
- Proficiency with PowerShare, PACS, EPIC, and DatCard CD burners is strongly desired.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with experience handling patient and provider inquiries.
