Onboarding & Recruitment Specialist

Position Objective:

As part of Shared Services, the Onboarding Specialist is responsible for coordinating the on-boarding process for all new hires and steering an exceptional candidate experience, including requesting, collecting, and processing employment documents, as well as verifying compliance for licensing and credentialing of all employees.  In addition, this position supports the talent acquisition and recruitment processes through sourcing activities, screening candidates, and participation in hiring events. 

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Coordinates the new employee on-boarding process for assigned cases to include collecting all required HR onboarding documentation, new hire credentials, residency requirements, archiving employee files, etc.
  2. Coordinates and support the new hire employee health process including the completion of drug screening, TB testing, vaccinations, and other requirements
  3. Proactively follows-up with candidates to ensure receipt of necessary credentials, documentation, and completion of pre-employment physical testing requirements.
  4. Uses HR systems to process new employees through the on-boarding life cycle from signed offer letter through first day of hire.
  5. Conducts background screenings such as criminal background, sanctions checks, social security verification and primary source verification of licenses upon hire, and ongoing screenings in accordance with regulatory requirements
  6. Verifies I-9 documentation (including document collection/verification)
  7. Determines starting status and clearance for each new hire based on completion of all onboarding requirements
  8. Communicates frequently with recruiters and managers regarding status of candidates’ status within the new hire process.
  9. Provides new hire with detailed instructions for their orientation on first day of work and reminder emails detailing specific documentation they must present to HR on first day.
  10. Supports the recruitment, talent acquisition, and human resources processes by conducting sourcing, screening candidates, participating in hiring events, and covering the front desk when requested.
  11. Other job duties, as assigned

Experience

  • Minimum two (2) year experience in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, or related field

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or better in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience.

Required License/Certifications:

  • HR Certification preferred

Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:

There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will not be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.

Physical Demands -

Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
