Position Objective:

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Safely and accurately performs and reports echocardiology tests according to approved organizational procedures and productivity standards.
  2. Monitors supply levels, moves supplies to specified storage areas within the department, and maintains the integrity of the supplies.
  3. Recognizes artifacts and eliminates probable source; troubleshoots minor equipment problems.
  4. Alerts team when clinical data could be compromised.
  5. Maintains equipment in a safe and sanitary condition. Operates equipment in accordance with all department safety guidelines & maintains activity and usage logs as required/needed.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • GED or High Diploma
  • Specialized training in Echocardiography preferred. 
  • Two years’ experience performing adult echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms preferred. 

Required License/Certifications:

  • Registered Echo Sonographer (RCVT, RDCS) with the ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) with CCI within 6 months of hire
  • CPR Certified.

Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:

There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.

Physical Demands -

Heavy workExerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
