DIRECTOR – Women’s & Children’s Services

Position Overview:

The Director for Luminis Health Women’s and Children’s Services is responsible for operationalizing the strategy necessary for creating a single Luminis Health OB-Gyn ambulatory platform for services.  Matrixed relationships will be leveraged to provide access to high value, patient centered and fiscally responsible care for patients in the geographies served by Luminis Health Clinical Enterprise (LHCE).  Critical competencies required for this position include: 1) the ability to form and promote high functioning, collaborative teams, 2) utilization of appropriate business and market intelligence to grow LH OB-Gyn services through patient access and efficient workflow, 3) implementation of standardized work and process improvement tools to drive change.

The Director for Luminis Health Women’s & Children’s Services is a key member of the LHCE leadership team. The Director supports the strategic efforts and objectives of the service line. Measures of success for this role includes achieving patient access metrics, patient experience top box metrics, regional growth and achievement of key financial performance indicators.

The Director will report directly to the Vice President of Women’s & Children’s Services.  Additional key relationships would include:

  • Chair, Women’s & Children’s Services
  • Medical Director, Luminis Health Women’s Clinical Services
  • Shared Services Departments - Professional Business Office, Information Support, Training, Human Resources, Risk Management and Finance

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Guide the execution of critical components of the annual operating plan (AOP) across all services focusing on achieving the key strategic objectives and goals of LHCE.
  2. Participate in the development of growth strategies for ambulatory service expansion to promote access to care system-wide for the communities we serve.
  3. Lead the standardization of scheduling and open access to facilitate growth, including the development of a Women’s Health TODAY program.
  4. Contribute to the development of strategies to improve financial performance of LHCE Women’s & Children’s services based on financial indicators and budget variances.
  5. Partner with clinical leadership to develop and routinely review a quality scorecard for LHCE Women’s & Children’s services.  
  6. Assist with the recruitment and retention of Women’s Health providers with a particular focus on a system-level orientation and onboarding process. 
  7. Oversee and operationalize grant funded programs to ensure compliance with committed deliverables across all ambulatory services
  8. Oversight of the following programs and initiatives for LHCE Women’s & Children’s Services:
    • EMR enhancement and refuel projects
    • Professional billing revenue cycle
    • Centering Program
    • Doula Program
    • Great Place to Work
    • Women’s Health TODAY Program

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in business administration, health administration, finance or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a progressive healthcare leadership role.
  • Proficient in the use of spreadsheet software and database systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting demands.
  • High motivation and achievement orientation.
  • Strong leadership and aptitude to attract and motivate strong management.

Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:

There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position may be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.

Physical Demands: Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
