Marketing Strategists are responsible for the development of marketing plans/campaigns and the implementation of marketing tactics that sustain and strengthen marketing strategies for the system, in general, and for assigned service lines, in particular. The marketing strategist provides comprehensive support and assistance with day-to-day activities, exercising independent judgment and creativity. Essential to the job are strong interpersonal, writing, organizational and communication skills. Activities take place in all areas of the main campus, off-site satellites, and at other community venues, as well as online during days and some evenings.

Coordinates marketing activities of designated service lines and medical group practices to ensure a comprehensive yearly plan. Serves as a strategic advisor to clients to communicate effectively and grow business. Rounds frequently to ensure in-depth understanding of objectives and demonstrates how marketing contributes to organizational success. Shares aggregated knowledge with Marketing/Communications team to ensure coordination and “Connect the dots”. Owns, coordinates and executes marketing plans established with client partners.
In collaboration with creative, web and communication specialists, develops messages for sales and promotional tools for consumer audiences. Work includes (but not limited to) web content development, collateral production, event management, media pitches and posts, and health education.
Engages in health education content strategy, including developing content in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs) to improve health status of the community. Work includes (but not limited to) blog articles, magazines, script development, syndicated columns, and other production duties.
Supports physician relations activities and other medical staff initiatives.
Assists Marketing and Communications team and leaders with other departmental activities as assigned. Incorporates activities into the online project management system, allowing for tracking and reporting in context of departmental annual plan. Mentors team members related to specialty.
Support systems marketing strategy, brand development, and digital strategy through implementation of tactical initiatives.
Fulfills clinical department marketing priorities.
Provides project management and evaluation for assigned projects.
Works collaboratively with marketing department colleagues, communications personnel, and clinical department staff.
Recommends and implements projects that fall within service-line budgets.
The minimum level of education and experience for this position includes:
Five years of experience in marketing.
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills.
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, public relations, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Demonstrated success in coordinating marketing programs, development of SEO web content and advertising.
Ability to meet deadlines critical.
Event planning experience preferred.
Healthcare experience preferred. Knowledge of primary and extended markets desired.
Enthusiastic, driven, team-oriented desired.
Database marketing, SEO web content, advertising placement and/or brand management experience preferred.
Cultural competence as well as knowledge of the community and local media desired
