Luminis Health is committed to expanding our behavioral health and substance abuse services to best meet the needs of our community. We believe that everyone who needs help should be easily able to access care for anxiety, depression, stress, addiction, and other mental health concerns. Together, we will make that happen.

Luminis Health is now expanding behavioral health and addiction treatment services to the Doctors Community Medical Center campus in 2022. Outpatient services will open in Summer 2022 with the addition of a 16-bed inpatient unit opening in late, 2022.

Outpatient services will include: Behavioral Health Clinic, Walk-in/Urgent Care, Psychiatric Day Treatment Program, Substance Use Treatment

J.Kent McNew Family Medical Center
Located on the same Riva Road property as Pathways, this new mental health hospital has been pivotal in meeting the #1 healthcare need in the local area. Our goal is to provide dedicated care for the treatment of mental health and substance use disorders, all on one campus. The J. Kent McNew Family Medical Center has a 16-bed adult inpatient mental health unit and a Partial Hospitalization Program for 34 adults and adolescents.

Pathways Treatment Center

Since 1992, Pathways has focused on the physical, emotional and social healing of adults with substance use disorders. We provide a continuum of inpatient and outpatient services, including detox programs and domestic violence counseling. Evidence-based groups, 12-step principles and Smart Recovery allow us to individualize treatment by utilizing a strength-based approach.

Adventure therapy, a form of experiential therapy, is a unique part of the treatment offered at Pathways eight-acre campus. Patient have an opportunity learn and practice new behaviors, improve interpersonal skills, face fears, overcome personal obstacles and heal painful emotions – all in a safe, supportive environment.

Pathways has designed a family-like workplace where employees feel comfortable and rewarded for their work. Our innovative, patient- and family-focused services are extended by a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Our not-for-profit treatment program is accredited by The Joint Commission and is led by a highly engaged Board of Directors, a board-certified Psychiatrist, Senior Nursing Director and Clinical Director. Affiliation with Anne Arundel Medical Center gives us the strength and support to continue growing in service to clients that can benefit from our specialized family programs, adventure therapy course, and prevention education program coordinated with the Anne Arundel County Board of Education. Mental Health Partial Hospitalization Program (Day Hospital)

Our Psychiatric Day Hospital is an intensive daytime treatment program offering mental health services for adults and teens age 13 and older. The program is designed to help those moving from 24/7 inpatient care and those who need to stabilize a condition to prevent a lengthy hospital stay. Each person receives a tailored treatment plan based on his or her unique needs.

Treatments provided include:

  • Mental Health and Psychiatric Evaluations
  • Individual and Group Psychotherapy
  • Pharmacological Treatment
  • Family Evaluation and Meetings
  • Goal Setting & Development
  • School-Based Onsite Tutoring, Art Therapy
  • 24/7 Coverage for Enrolled Patients

Those enrolled attend daily sessions from 8 am until 3:30 pm and return home at night. Whenever possible, we invite family members and support systems to take part in the treatment and healing process.

AAMG Mental Health Specialists/Clinics

AAMG Mental Health Specialists provide care to adults and children ages 6 years and older. We are committed to providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment for our community.

Counseling and therapy services are available for:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Life Changes
  • Relationship Issues
  • Trauma
  • Other Serious and Persistent Mental Illness

Treatment options include mental health evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy and family therapy. Services are provided by a team of psychiatrists and other licensed clinical professionals .

AAMG Behavioral Health @ ED

AAMG Behavioral Health @ ED provides evaluation and treatment for acute mental health illnesses within the Emergency Department at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Our six-bed unit in the ED is equipped to provide evaluation, treatment and discharge to home or other facility, and treatment and transfer to inpatient care.
